I’m back with my 50 States Wrapped series and today’s post will cover Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, and Maryland! I will continue to add books from each state. If you missed the previous parts to this series, you can check my posts about Alabama-California, Colorado-Georgia, and Hawaii-Iowa!
Kansas
We live here! We moved to Kansas in 2009. It’s a pretty great place to live and we like it here! I have all kinds of posts about fun things to do in Kansas that you are welcome to check out. – well some of them are in MO as well, for those in the Kansas City area!
Books that take place in Kansas (besides The Wizard of Oz):
Kentucky
We visited Kentucky on a few different road trips. We stopped there in 2016 on the way to visit my brother in Atlanta and we visited the Louisville Slugger Museum. On that same trip we visited Woodford Reserve.
On another trip home from NJ, we stopped in Kentucky as well. We visited two distilleries, including Buffalo Trace.
Books that take place in Kentucky:
Louisiana
Louisiana was one of the later states that I hadn’t gotten to, so Dave and I went to New Orleans to celebrate our 40th birthdays. More about the Garden District here. While there, we also visited a plantation.
Books that take place in Louisiana:
Maine
Dave and I visited Maine when I was pregnant with Gabbie. I remember being quite nauseous for much of the trip! We only visited the southern tip of Maine, visiting lighthouses and beaches. I really liked it! I am not sure what happened to the pictures I took so I don’t have any to share.
Books that take place in Maine:
Maryland
I first visited Maryland as a kid with my family when we went to Baltimore and Ocean City. I remember enjoying it. I also visited Baltimore and Annapolis as a travel camp counselor. We probably stayed in Maryland when we went to D.C., plus have definitely passed through and eaten there when driving to D.C. from NJ. But I again don’t have pictures from my time spent in this state!

Have you been to any of these 5 states?
