I’m back with my 50 States Wrapped series and today’s post will cover Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, and Missouri! I will continue to add books from each state. If you missed the previous parts to this series, you can check my posts about Alabama-California, Colorado-Georgia, Hawaii-Iowa, and Kansas-Maryland.
Massachusetts
I first visited Massachusetts when I was about 11, on a trip to Boston with my family. I liked it a lot! I also visited MA when I was a camp counselor, with an overnight trip to Nantucket. In my 20s, I had a friend from Boston and I visited her a few times, including a weekend in Cape Cod. And most recently, we were in MA bringing Gabbie to college at UMass!

Michigan
The first time I was in Michigan doesn’t count – a plane stop in Detroit on the way to Hawaii! I was in Michigan when we were driving to NJ by way of Chicago and we stayed overnight in Sturgis, MI. I don’t think we did anything or saw anything in the state though – oops!

Minnesota
The first time I was in Minnesota was when Gabbie was a baby and we had a plane stop on the way to visit my grandmother in Arizona. It does count because we left the airport and went to the Mall of America!
Then, in 2020, we stayed at an Air BnB in Detroit Lakes, MN.
We also passed through Minneapolis on that trip.

Mississippi
We visited Mississippi on our way home from Florida and we stopped in Tupelo, the birthplace of Elvis.

Missouri
Before I lived 5 miles from MO, I first visited as a kid on a plane stop on the way to Arizona. This seems to be a theme of states in this post! But for real, my first time visiting MO was when we moved to Kansas and we drove through MO on the way. Since then I have spent a good amount of time in St. Louis and of course, tons of time in Kansas City on the Missouri side! Plus a bunch of road trip stops and day trips, etc.
