We’ve reached the end of another month and boy was this one busy! We had so much going on and I felt like I was hardly home at all. We had fun though. Here’s a look back at May!
Daily Life
The school year wrapped up with Gabbie finishing on the 11th and the boys on the 24th. Gabbie graduated and my in-laws were here for a week. We only had one dog visitor this month and just overnight. The older kids went on a youth group weekend and then Gabbie went to NJ and saw Taylor Swift. She got tickets on the day of her graduation (she was given a code to order since she was unable to use the code the first time around) and she quickly got flights and arranged to stay with family while there. Her good friend from here was able to go with her – she was also in NJ and also saw the concert Friday night, but went with Gabbie on Sunday too!
The boys got haircuts after these pictures were taken!
Celebrations
The older kids were away on Mother’s Day but we managed to stop by one of the farm tour stops. We used to go every year but in the past years, Gabbie always had dance competitions on Mother’s Day! I texted Gabbie that these were my new kids:
We celebrated Gabbie graduating and we had a party for her as well. I didn’t take a lot of photos and mostly spent time talking to my friends who were there! Gabbie had a lot of friends attend. We did decorate and this is one of the photo displays we made:
And how it was set up at the party:
Gabbie’s dance friends got some group pictures:
Dance also had a banquet and Gabbie got a big card and a laundry basket full of things for college.
The following week, we celebrated Dave’s birthday:
And finally, last weekend was Shavuot, which we also celebrated!
School
School has wrapped up for the summer and everyone is thrilled. Zachary is here for a month before he leaves for his summer trip. Gabbie is going to be working. And Simon has no plans, which I’m a bit worried about!
Activities
We had all of the end of the year things. Zachary’s play, Gabbie’s extravaganza, and Gabbie’s recital. I forgot to share this picture – doesn’t she still look the same?
She also had her last dance competition. Like I mentioned, Gabbie and Zachary went to their spring youth group weekend. Zachary is going to be on the regional board next year.
Health / Fitness
Last year Gabbie came home from the spring youth group weekend with Covid. This year Zachary came home with a cough. Now I seem to have a cold as well. Otherwise I’ve been on and off at the gym. I hope to still go during the summer.
TV
Not being home a lot this month put me pretty far behind on TV watching. I finally watched the finale of A Million Little Things this week. Then I watched the finale of 9-1-1. It’s supposedly canceled at Fox but moving onto ABC, so we’ll see!
Reading
My reading was pretty slow this month with so much going on. (For me). I shared the first half of what I read this month here, my favorites of the month are here, and more reviews will be up on Friday.
Coming Up
In June, we’re taking a trip to Oregon / California and we are pretty excited! We also have more dog business coming up and I even ordered business cards with the hopes of spreading the word. I’m a little nervous though because I’m going to be walking dogs and Dave will be away and not able to help!
How was your May?
