It’s the end of the month so it’s time for my month in review post. July was a slower month with Zachary away and Gabbie working. It’s ok though since August will be super busy again! Here’s a look back at July.
Daily Life
Every day this month, Simon has gotten up early and gone to synagogue. Gabbie works in the morning, so I have a little bit of alone time until Simon gets back. Gabbie has mostly been working until lunchtime and then goes back around 3, although this week she is home at 9:30 ish and then goes back after lunch. When she has been home in the afternoon, we have worked on cleaning out her room. We are almost done now. Simon and I have gone on a few adventures, which I wrote about here! We also went to a farm where we picked blueberries, peaches, and flowers. It was fun!
And we have been dog sitting – our next friends come tomorrow.
Celebrations
Other than July 4, we haven’t done much celebrating this month!
School
Simon is busy not doing his summer reading assignment. I’m busy wondering if I should make him do the paper he is supposed to be writing about the book! It’s a good book too – The Curious Incident of the Dog In The Nighttime. Zachary also has a summer assignment but he’s obviously not working on it while he’s away.
Gabbie chose her classes for her first semester. She earned a good amount of credits from her AP tests too! We have done a bunch of shopping for the dorm and need to start packing it all up.
Activities
Gabbie had her last summer dance class and is feeling sad about it. I’m not sure how she’ll entertain herself between now and heading to school! Simon is supposed to be working on bar mitzvah practice. He feels confident but I’m not so sure! And like I mentioned, Zachary is away. He comes back next week.
Health / Fitness
This month Gabbie got a cold. She said her ear hurt so we went to urgent care, but it wasn’t an infection. As for me, I’ve tried to go to the gym, but both of my teachers that I liked are leaving and the first replacement was so annoying! Everyone in the class agreed too. My weight just keeps going up. I did have a mammogram this month and for the first time I don’t need a follow up! And I scheduled a general check up for the beginning of September.
TV
I decided to watch a few shows based on books I’ve read. First I watched The Last Thing He Told Me, which was similar to the book and I remembered a lot of. Now I’m watching Saint X. I may watch Daisy Jones and the Six next!
Reading
I read a lot more books that I loved this month than last month and I’ll be sharing those on Friday! My first half of the month reviews are here.
Coming Up
August needs to be all focused on the bar mitzvah and Gabbie’s move, which are one after the other! And the boys go back to school too! I need to focus on not being stressed!
How was your July?
