For today’s Random Friday Things post I have a few things to share including July 4th, dogs, Simon’s summer so far, and more!

On July 4th, we went to the pool. I looked at Simon and Gabbie and said “you look like the fourth of July!” and I had to take a picture. They were laughing about something on our family group chat, so it came out cute.
That night, we went back and forth on whether to go to the fireworks, but in the end we decided to take up a friends’ invitation to go through their yard onto the golf course, where you can find a good view. We went with another friend and her son, plus other people we know ended up in the same spot. After we found the good view, we were happy!

The dog sitting business has been busy this month. We had dogs in the house for about two weeks and now this week we don’t have any. It’s always weird when they leave!
Our first guest lives in our neighborhood and he kept trying to get me to walk him home! He also easily learned where we live and now his dad says he tries to go up our driveway every time they walk by!
I love this girl!
One of our favorites – he hasn’t stayed with us in awhile but he needed a place for a few days and we were glad to have him!

Taylor Swift was in Kansas City two weeks ago. Gabbie saw her in NJ because the concerts here didn’t work for us time wise, but we did go check out the Taylor Swift street sign in North Kansas City! We also tried to get close enough to the stadium to hear the concert, but there was way too many cars trying to get in (I guess to pick people up?) so that didn’t go too well!

With Zachary away and Gabbie working, Simon has had to create some entertainment for himself. He’s been taking his bike out a lot and doing a little bit of what he’s supposed to be doing for his bar mitzvah preparation. Two weeks ago he decided he wanted to go rock climbing, so we went! It was difficult but fun.
Another activity we tried was making pancakes. Simon had fun with that too!
He comes on errands with me and sometimes gets a treat. We stopped at a coffee place (coffee for me, not for him) and I gave his name instead of mine. He asked if they spelled it right – well, looks like he has a new Starbucks name! (even though we weren’t at Starbucks!)
This week he even came with me to walk the dogs at the shelter. He doesn’t often do that anymore! These cuties really liked meeting him!

This weekend, Zachary is visiting Dave’s sister in Israel! I still need to share more from his trip – maybe next week!
Have a great weekend!
