Gabbie’s graduation was last night and it was a lovely event held outside on the football field. It was rainy in the morning, but luckily the sun came out for the graduation itself!
In the morning, we attend the Senior Recognition Ceremony. Gabbie received recognition for the President’s Education Award, being a Kansas ACT Scholar, and for being on the Four Year Honor Roll. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude – having a GPA above 4.4 – and wasn’t in the top 10 percent of the class! What a smart class to have so many students with perfect GPAs.
Before the actual graduation, Gabbie and I went to a local lake and took some photos there.
She has cords for National Honor Society, Quill and Scroll Honor Society, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and for Jewish Student Union.
Before the ceremony we grabbed some quick family photos.
It is always nice when Zachary is willing to be in pictures!
Here is Gabbie walking into the stadium:
There were 330 graduates! The student speakers did a nice job. Being freshman when Covid started was a big topic as it obviously effected these kids and their high school experience – but they were lucky to finish out totally normally!
After the ceremony, everyone was on the field trying to get pictures with friends and family.
A boy from our synagogue also graduated. Simon and Zachary are good friends with him and his brothers (the two next to the graduate) and the boy in the grey t-shirt as well. The girl is the other graduate’s sister.
Two of Gabbie’s good friends.

Gabbie and her math teacher!
After we left Gabbie for her night out at Project Graduation, we all headed to Andy’s for ice cream!
Congratulations Class of 2023!
