Today I’m joining Joyce at From This Side of the Pond for her Wednesday Hodgepodge Questions from 3/9 and 3/16! So it’s a double dose of Wednesday Hodgepodge here today.
3/9 Questions:
1. Where do you get your news these days?
I get a lot of news from people I follow on Instagram. I also will look at Twitter and the news link on Twitter. Or the news app on my phone. Sometimes straight to cnn.com, if I know something is happening that I want to know more about.
2. It [was] National Crab Day…do you like crab meat? What makes you crabby?
I have never had crab. (While I haven’t always been strictly kosher, there are a few things that I have never had, ham and crab included). I get crabby when I am overwhelmed, stressed, or just tired!
3. Does freedom mean more choices? Have you ever felt there were too many choices? Elaborate.
I guess having choices and having the freedom to choose go hand in hand. Sometimes I feel like I have too many books to choose from!
4. Barbara Millicent Roberts was introduced to the world on March 9, 1959…that’s Barbie to most of us. Did you have Barbies as a kid, or did you let your own children play with Barbies? What well known Barbara (living or not) would you most like to meet?
I played with Barbies until I was older than most of the kids who still played with Barbies. I had a good friend and we liked to play with my collection! I still own them, my daughter had played with them, but she is too old now. A famous Barbara I’d like to meet…how about Barbara Walters?
5. What are three things you value most in another person?
Conversational ability (listening and contributing), kindness, and intelligence.
3/16 Questions:
1. It’s March 15th and as the saying goes-“Beware the Ides of March”. Have you read or studied much Shakespeare? Do you have a favorite Shakespeare play? How do you feel about a Caesar salad?
I have read whatever we read in school – Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and Hamlet maybe? I did enjoy Romeo and Juliet. And I love Caesar salad!
2. Have you ever been to Rome? If so what do you love about the city? If not, any desire to go?
I haven’t been there but I’d go if I could! Gabbie is going to Italy this summer and although we don’t have her itinerary yet, I imagine she will get to go to Rome!
3. What’s your favorite place to ‘roam’?
“Roam if you want to…roam around the world.” I got that in my head so now you can have it in yours too, lol. I guess in the every day I just roam around my neighborhood, but I’m happy to travel and visit new places when possible. And of course I love to roam around Disney World!
4. Do you like pizza? Thick or thin crust? Red sauce-white sauce-other? Your favorite toppings? How do you feel about pineapple on a pizza?
I very rarely eat pizza these days due to my inability to eat carbs without gaining 5 pounds. Dave makes a homemade pizza using Rhodes white bread for the dough and I normally eat a quarter of a slice of that. I have only had pizza with red sauce. My brother-in-law’s pizza store has some neat toppings but if I was choosing, I’d say I like green olives on pizza. I don’t think I’ve ever had pineapple!
5. ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’…tell us how this expression applies to something in your home-life-job currently (or recently)?
It’s always good and smart to take things one day at a time or step by step. I have a plan to go through my closet a bit at a time and if I would just get started that would be good!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Tomorrow is Purim! I have been working on the Purim gift bags for us to give out, as well as the ones our synagogue gives out since I’m in charge of that project. We are also working on switching out Gabbie’s bed from a loft bed to a new one that she ordered. Zachary is away this week – back tomorrow night! And all three kids are off school this Friday.
Tell me your answer to any of these!
