Today I’m participating in Monthly Musings with Holly and Patti (a few days late). This month’s topic is Beating The Winter Blues, which is definitely something I always need to think about in the winter!
1. Something You Do For Yourself to Beat the Winter Blues:
I drink warm drinks, eat warm foods, and try to get cozy. I don’t like winter but I do like being cozy! If I’m going to be outside, I try to dress warmly and wear a hat so I don’t feel way too cold too.
2. Something You Do For Your Family to Bring Joy Over the Winter:
Take them to Florida for winter break! And let them have hot drinks and lots of chocolate I guess!
3. Favorite Cozy Items or Go Tos:
I knit a lot of blankets that are cuddly. I like hoodies a lot. I also have furry slippers but I’ve been thinking about getting those new Ugg ones that can be worn as shoes as well! I wrote a post about my favorite cozy items here.
4. Winter exercise habits or practices:
I’ve been walking on the track (inside) and going to core strength classes. When I was able to run, I would do so outside when it was 40 degrees or above!
5. Do you practice journaling or meditation?
I bought a journal and wrote in it twice so far. Haha. I do want to do so more often! At the same time, my blog is like my journal.
6. Do you light candles or use essential oils to relax?
I always say I want to use candles and I never do (other than for decor). I have essential oils too but I don’t remember to use them!
7. Any bedtime rituals you would like to share that promote quality sleep?
I read before bed and that helps me fall asleep. I do have trouble sometimes falling back to sleep if I wake up at night!
8. What are your morning habits that help you prepare for a good day?
Coffee. That’s it.
9. Favorite way to spend a day off in the winter:
Staying inside, reading, watching some football.
10. Favorite winter themed movies:
I don’t really have any and I don’t watch movies all that often either.
