I’m a bit late putting this post together because traveling at the end of the month doesn’t lend to easy blogging! But it’s the end of December so it’s time to take a look back at the month.
Daily Life
It was a somewhat typical month with appointments, a bat mitzvah to attend, and dog watching. Plus, it was Hanukkah so we had a few related activities. Gabbie came home for winter break and will be home for all of January. Zachary went to NY for his summer program reunion and met us in Florida for our winter break trip. Gabbie left from Florida to a youth group event in CT! Zachary could have gone to that too, but decided he didn’t want to be away from home for that long. Our Florida trip was family filled and basically fun, and now we are working on getting back to normal at home.

Holidays
I wrote about our Hanukkah celebrations here! We have New Year’s Eve plans for the first time in years, so hopefully I can stay up that late!
School
The boys did well with all As and Bs on their most recent grades. We had a meeting with the school about Simon transitioning to high school next year and I ended up talking to the learning specialist for a bit about his science grade and teacher – I wasn’t sure if the teacher understood his needs – but things worked out because he turned in his missing assignments and his grade went back from a D+ to an A. After winter break we have a school meeting about the college application process for Zachary!
Gabbie definitely made Dean’s List for her first semester at school. I’m proud of her success in class and out!
Activities
Most of the kids’ activities this month were Hanukkah related. And for me it was mostly dog related as usual!
Health / Fitness
Zachary’s cough lasted a while but finally went away just before he left for NY. I was about to take him back to the doctor too.
I’m thinking about my health and fitness goals for the new year. I really need to do something about the weight I’ve been gaining!
TV
Next month some of my favorite shows will finally be back! In the meanwhile I watched the show Tell Me Your Secrets which Lindsay mentioned. It was pretty good.
Reading
I read less books this year than last year and I am still working on my favorite of the year list. I used to post this in December but I decided to wait until I actually finished all the books I plan to read in 2023. I shared the first half of the books I read this month here and tomorrow I’ll share my favorites of the month so far.
Coming Up
Stay tuned for more about our Florida trip and hopefully some year in review posts soon!
How was your December?
