Florida Trip Highlights

I’m back! Did you miss me? Obviously not, because you probably didn’t even know I was gone! On May 30, we left for Florida. Even though I swore off road trips last year, there are certain things I will do to get me to Disney World, and road trips are included! This map shows approximately the route we took, the letters being the places we stayed – although one is missing in North Florida where we spent a night before continuing to Memphis! We arrived back home on June 23 – a total of 23 days away! On this trip I was able to hit 3 new states – Kentucky, Alabama, and Mississippi – and cross “go to Disney World” off of my 35 Things To Do list!

There are going to be lots of recap posts to come. I mean lots. I hope you don’t get sick of them, that’s how many there will be! I’m currently editing the photos, but I thought I’d share a few sneak peaks today.

After Disney World, we traveled to Tampa, FL, where Dave worked and I entertained the kids. We had a pretty good time and tried to do a few more relaxing things after our busy week in Disney World. Here are some Tampa highlights:

Our third week in Florida was spent at my parents’ new house in Boynton Beach. They just moved there this past February. Dave worked from the house and my parents and I entertained the kids. Just a few highlights:

There are lots more where those came from. Obviously I have a problem scaling back on the pictures on here, as I could barely narrow down photos for this highlights post! So hopefully you’re ready to hear lots more about Florida! Let me know what you think – should I make collages from my photos so there are less of them? I tried that with this post and it didn’t work very well! Which part of my trip are you looking forward to hearing more about?

I was thinking of you guys while you were here and hoping the weather was holding up! We had a few bad days down here, hopefully it wasn't so bad up in Boynton!

Love the Disney photos! And the Tampa Aquarium! I've lived in Florida my whole life, I've never been to Tampa! I've always wanted to go there.

I'm sure this is not a surprise but I'm looking forward to the Disney part most. :)

Have you visited your brother before? Those pics in the beginning look fun!

So cool! You stood in a lot of the same spots we did. And I noticed each princess was a different one than we saw lol. They must switch out a lot.

First of all I have to say, Dara you look great! Especially in that photo with Buzz Lightyear lol. So many great pics...I bet you took tons! I love how you drove to Florida and back and went two different routes. It's fun to see parts of the country you'd otherwise never see. Looking forward to reading more of your trip!

Oh wow, it's so cool to see all the pictures with the Princesses! 23 days away from home? That sounds like such an adventure! (And I keep scheduled posts blogging for me when I go away, too)

What a fun vacation--I just love Disney and can't wait to see more pictures :) The longest trip my family ever took was 10 days (we went to D.C. and Williamsburg) and I have nothing but good memories from it--this will be a trip that your kids will always look back on and cherish!
