Last week, Gabbie had two fun dance performances. The first was senior night for basketball, cheer, and dance, and the second was a dance showcase with the other schools in our district.
In the fall, the senior dancers were introduced at the football senior night, but the basketball senior night includes the seniors making posters that are set up outside of the gym and their parents escorting them as they are presented to the crowd. It took place between the girls’ and boys’ basketball games and the dance team danced afterwards. This would have been the last home basketball game, but the girls’ team is undefeated and going into finals!
There are two seniors on the dance team but the other girl was sick so she couldn’t attend. Here is Gabbie’s poster and the table set up:
These are pages from the program and the announcer read the answers to these questions as each senior was presented.
A few pictures of the presentation including Gabbie getting a flower from her dance team co-captain and friend:
Pre-game dancing:
Then the team performed during halftime.
Two days later, the dance showcase was held at one of the other high schools. Each group performed twice and then all the seniors from each school danced together.
Gabbie’s team performed lyrical and pom.
The senior dance was just Gabbie from our team since the other senior was still sick. I am proud of Gabbie for getting up there with girls she mostly doesn’t know!
As you can see, it was a very dance filled week!
