On Monday, the kids started 3rd grade, 1st grade, and preschool. Here are our first day pictures:
Our chalkboard sign, at home. Isn’t Simon the cutest? People have been saying he looks like Zachary now, but I’m not so sure!
At preschool with Simon. The second picture was taken during the school day.
All 3 kids returned home in good spirits. Simon fell asleep in the car on the way to pick up Gabbie and Zachary! No one had homework on the first day, which was a good thing. Zachary was excited that he had P.E. and Music on the same day. Gabbie was excited that her class has a marble jar and if they are good all day they get extra time to play.
Being that Simon gets home 3 hours before the other kids, I was considering whether I should start doing the Letter of the Week Curriculum with him again. I pretty much let that slide last year. While I might begin that curriculum again, I was very excited when I found out about an online reading program I am going to be able to try called Reading Eggs.
I’m really excited to try this out with Simon! He’s only 3, but this program says it starts with the basics and one of the testimonials I saw said that after starting the program at 3, her 4 year old could read. Am I skeptical? Maybe a little. But I’m going to try it out and let you know!
