This is my first time writing a Friday Favorites / High 5 For Friday Post. I never knew there were so many Friday link-ups! Let’s just say I hope I do this right!
This week started out with a super busy Sunday. Gabbie had a dance competition and she had to be there at 7 AM. Then we went to the Royals game. In between, I forgot to call my mom. I try to call her every Sunday morning because that’s when she always called her mother – it dates back to when it cost a lot to call each other and they lived across the country from each other so it cost even more! Now, this coming Sunday is going to be really busy again and I have to NOT forget, it being Mother’s Day and all!
Gabbie’s class went on a camping trip this week. She wasn’t thrilled but I was jealous of all the cool places she got to visit!
If you need a last minute idea for Mother’s Day, I am loving these 52 Positive Affirmations to Inspire Moms from Personal Creations. You can download these pretty pages (for free!) and assemble them as a book, frame some of them, keep them and give them to your favorite mom friends when you think they need some positive thoughts, use them as cards when you give gifts, etc.
Some of my favorites:
Only I can give my children a happy mother.
I am learning to be a better mother with each new day.
I am doing the best that I can for my children and it is enough.
I am exactly what my child needs.
I will laugh with my children today.
I do not expect to be a perfect mother.
I know better than anyone else what my children need.
My child is alright exactly as he/she is.
The challenges that I face make me a stronger mother.
My kids have had a lot of birthday parties recently, all for pretty good friends. Gift ideas aren’t always easy to come by, so here’s what we got for them (with help from their parents!):
Now I need a good gift for a 12 year old! (Actually for 3 of them, Gabbie’s best friends are all turning 12 very soon!)
This week I posted about:
Have a great weekend!
