Simon has been having a great time in pre-K so far. I find myself watching him carefully for signs of academic struggles, because as I’ve mentioned before, he is young for his class. I still think he belongs in the class he is in, but I hope to encourage him to learn to write his name this year – something Zachary couldn’t do until kindergarten. Here are some of the things he has brought home from school recently:
Learning Hebrew letters. I did see a picture of the kids doing this activity, and the other kids completely colored their boxes the required colors.
A round challah.
Simon sewing the challah and bonus picture of play dough play.
What great paintings!
Here he is learning the first letter of his Hebrew name. He says he wrote these by himself.
Although you can’t see the whole thing, this is a pretend shofar (a ram’s horn which is blown on Rosh Hashanah) and Simon cut out the paper for it by himself.
I may have more Rosh Hashanah related projects to share next week!
