Book & Polish Swap Reveal and What I’ve Been Reading #14

A few weeks back I signed up for a fun swap – for a book and nail polish. My swap partner was Pamela from Pamela’s Heavenly Treats and here is what she sent me:

Two books! Declutter Now by Lindon and Sherry Gareis and Sparkly Green Earrings by Melanie Shankle. And my first OPI nail polish! Color – “I’m Not Really a Waitress.” Plus a shamrock themed towel and a nice card. Pamela spoiled me!

I haven’t started the books yet but I did use the nail polish. Here is my first ever blog nail polish picture!

The accent nail was done using Sally Hanson Salon Effects Strips!

As for what I’ve been reading lately, I only finished one book this past week.

“Only minutes after Abbie Elliot and her three best friends step off of a private helicopter, they enter the most luxurious, sumptuous, sensually pampering hotel they have ever been to. Their lavish presidential suite overlooks Monte Carlo, and they surrender: to the sun and pool, to the sashimi and sake, to the Bruno Paillard champagne. For four days they're free to live someone else's life. As the weekend moves into pulsating discos, high-stakes casinos, and beyond, Abbie is transported to the greatest pleasure and release she has ever known. In the morning's harsh light, Abbie awakens on a yacht, surrounded by police. Something awful has happened--something impossible, unthinkable. Abbie, Winnie, Serena, and Bryah are arrested and accused of the foulest crime imaginable. And now the vacation of a lifetime becomes the fight of a lifetime--for survival.” This book kept me reading, though I thought some sections went on for too long. It is hard to write about my thoughts on the plot without giving away the twist / conclusion, so I’ll just say that the thing that was bothering me while reading turned out to bother me for a reason. This isn’t the best book I’ve read, but if you like suspense and adventure, you might like this book.

Speaking of reading, I’m sure by now you’ve heard that Google Reader will cease to exist in July. I really liked using Google Reader to follow blogs but lately it was giving me issues anyway, so I started copying over everything to Bloglovin. YesterdayI think I made sure every blog I read is on my reading list there. If you want to follow me on Bloglovin, please click here.

Also speaking of reading, I finally straightened the kids’ bookshelf in the living room. I’m taking bets on how long it will look so nice!

Have a great weekend everyone!
