Zachary has been having a great trip, in which he either hasn’t taken many pictures or hasn’t sent us very many of them! Today I’m sharing the ones he has sent me since I last shared his time in Morocco.
From Morocco, the group took a ferry to Gibraltar.
Apparently there are monkeys there. Actually they are called Barbary macaques.
They visited a cave.
The group drove to Spain, but pedestrians walk across the airport runway and cross the border there.
In Spain, they visited Cordoba, the city where a famous Jewish rabbi, Maimonides, is from.
I believe they were supposed to visit more places in Spain, but many of the kids got a stomach illness, so they spent most of that day in bathrooms! Zachary said he was not affected!
From Spain, they flew to Israel.
This cat was waiting for his luggage.
On that first day in Israel, the visited the Kotel (Western Wall) in Jerusalem, and then headed up north.
One of the cities they visited was Tzfat:
At a water park, Zachary ran into our friend from home, who is on another trip. She is in Zachary’s class at school but is also good friends with Gabbie.
They visited Rosh Hanikra, at the north east border of Israel on the Mediterranean. There are cable cars there that go into grottoes.
On his free weekend, Zachary visited Dave’s sister and two of her kids. On the evening he got there, he went jeeping with his cousin.
The next day, he went to Jerusalem on his own.
When the group was back together, they had a desert camp out and climbed Masada at sunrise.
He was back in the Jerusalem area for a few days and now he is near the beach for a few days. The trip ends tomorrow and he arrives home on Thursday!
