1. What we’re eating this month…
We had Beer Can Chicken twice this month. On Simon’s birthday, we had his favorite meal – mac and cheese. And at the ballpark we had pastrami dogs!
Gabbie participated in a online baking camp and we got to snack on some fun cakes!
2. What I’m Reminiscing About…
Summer in general and past year’s back to school times.
3. What I’m Loving…
Getting back into a regular routine. Even in the beginning of school things aren’t quite normal because not all of the afterschool activities have started. But I appreciate when things flow regularly!
4. What We’ve Been Up To…
We finished out summer break with our mini St. Louis trip, our Kaufman Stadium tour, and some swimming. For the past two weeks it’s been school!
5. What I’m Dreading…
Even while I like the routine of school, I dread when it starts to get even more busy with assignments. I’m sure it won’t be long before the teachers contact me about Simon’s issues with writing too.
6. What I’m Working On…
Knitting a hat for Gabbie’s dance teacher’s baby shower and blog posts.
7. What I’m Excited About…
I suppose I’m looking forward to the fall holidays (Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot). Even though they also can be stressful!
8. What I’m Watching / Reading…
This month I watched Ozark and The Killing on Netflix. I need some more suggestions! For what I’ve been reading, click here.
9. What I’m Listening To…
Not too much new. Whenever Gabbie gets into the car she changes my radio station from classic rock to pop. I am so tired of hearing the same songs over and over!
10. What I’m Wearing…
Nothing exciting. Just shorts and t-shirts!
11. What I’m Doing This Weekend…
It’s Labor Day weekend and we might be continuing our tradition of going up to Omaha for Labor Day.
12. What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…
The Jewish Culture Fest and starting fall activities like apple picking.
13. What Else Is New…
Today is the day that we are sharing the Mom Love Fellowship Summer Edition swaps that we received. My partner was Caity, a sweet lady who recently moved to Texas and is still adapting to life there. She sent me such a fun and creative package! The main inspiration for her package was the book Wild and Free, which she reviewed on her blog here. It is a book about God’s purpose for women and it inspired Caity to wear lipstick and go running in the mornings. It also inspired her to send me the following items:
Lipstick – to be bold and try something outside of the mold.
Toothpaste – to encourage me to let people help me and to accept that we can’t do everything on our own. And to remember to offer help to others too.
Face Mask – to take a few minutes to refresh myself.
And what’s in that big package on the top?
This adorable dress, with which Caity encouraged me to try something new, even if it’s not my particular style in the hopes that it makes me and others smile.
Isn’t she sweet and creative??
Bonus Question: What are your best back to school lunch ideas and/or tips?
We have a lunch schedule so I have a plan as to what everyone wants each day. It helps when more than one kid has the same lunch on the same day. Our newest lunchbox addition is quesadillas! I make lunches the night before.
What’s up with you today?
