It’s Okay #4 and Fall Swap Reveal

Nugget On A Budget

It’s okay…

…that I started going through the toys and trashing / donating them. But I’ve barely made a dent.

…that I haven’t repainted my nails yet.

…that Gabbie’s zoo trip was postponed. It didn’t rain in the morning but it did in the afternoon.

…that Zachary has to wear a red shirt to school today because a Chiefs player is coming. The 1st grade is leading a cheer!

…that sometimes I feel overwhelmed with blogging. I love it, but it still gets overwhelming sometimes! (Post topic for Thursday anyone?)

…to be planning my 2nd group giveaway for next week.

…to be a little worried about Hanukkah gifts this year.

…to wonder why my kids think they always need to be eating.

…not to wash the breakfast dishes until mid afternoon.

…to have bought Gabbie the same dress from Gymboree that her two best friends have.

…to be obsessed with ranch dressing.

…that I am almost done watching Orange Is The New Black. Love it.

…to share this fall swap I took part in! My partner was Kate from The “Florkens.” Florken is not her real last name, but she and her husband both blog and are very cute! She is having a fall giveaway right now so go enter. Here is what she sent me:

I wore the scarf twice already!

…and today I’m introducing yet another of my fabulous blog sidebar friends – Krystal!

Krystal just recently took her adorable son Reid to the pumpkin patch. She also shared a very yummy looking recipe for stuffed pepper and rice soup! I especially like reading Krystal’s running recaps – she inspires me!

This month I asked my sponsors 3 travel related questions. Krystal says:

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? I would like to go to Australia and Iceland. Both have been on my list for a while now. I also would love to see the Grand Canyon up close. We have been talking about taking a vacation there for a few years now. So hopefully someday soon.

Where have you previously traveled that you loved and would return to? I have loved each destination for a different reason. I really enjoyed our two weeks in Alaska 2 years ago. It was relaxing and beautiful... And also our last vacation as a family of two. I would return in a heartbeat. I also loved Costa Rica... Again it was beautiful but we had so many fun adventures there.

Do you have any upcoming travel plans?  Does work travel plans count? There is a chance that we will be in Las Vegas for a conference next year, if so we will be spending a few extra days there as well. We are also talking about taking a long weekend to head to the Phoenix area in January.... To see some sun and warm weather!

Go visit Krystal and tell her I sent you!

I get overwhelmed with blogging all the time. I have found that if I don't plan and write my posts on the weekends then it's nearly impossible for me to catch up during the week.

And, on a side note - I have been going through the toys in preparation for Cecily's birthday and it seems like no matter what I clear out, there's just so much more!

How cool that a Chiefs player is coming! You could give the kids turkeys for Thanksgiving (-:

I also try to plan ahead. I guess this month with the 31 days thing, I could just have that post be the post of the day, instead of trying for 2!

Dara said...

I try to plan ahead but I usually write them throughout the week. I just don't have ideas for all the days this month! the toys multiply, don't they!

it is pretty exciting that a Chiefs player is coming. He's a Jewish player!
the problem with Hanukkah is that I know I don't want to go overboard, and my kids have too much already! so I want to come up with smaller things!

I totally give you doing the two posts in one day. Seriously, I only do that when necessary, but one post a day is enough for me to keep up with. So, I am truly impressed that you have done 2 in one day this moth with the challenge :)

Oh cool! I totally hear you on overboard. My parents always did it this was when we were kids. Night 1 was the BIG gift, then they got smaller each night (a book, a calendar, etc). 1 night was the sibling exchange and 1 night we got nothing b/c we had taken our tzedakah and bought gifts for charity. 1 night was usually gifts from other relatives. Now I get a card lol

I do include gifts from other relatives and I love when those relatives will tell me what they are getting or ask me what to get! I LOVE the idea of a sibling exchange. of course I will have to come up with the idea, but I think they would love giving the gifts to each other. One of my issues right now is that I won an awesome thing for Zachary that I know he'll love, but I don't have anything big for the other 2 for that same night!

Blogging is overwhelming. I'm having a bit of a struggle this week, that I didn't have last week. And maybe I won't next. I love ranch dressing so much. I try to make my own and it's delicious! I can never get the garlic ratio right, though.

Awesome swap!!
I watched one of these guys unpack and pack some of our toys... We definitely have way too many. Getting rid of them will have to be at the top of my to do list. It's just so hard!!

Totally get you on the Hanukkah thing, although my stress is about Birthday and Christmas (which both fall in December). Because my daughter already has so much, I am asking her grandparents to just pay for her to take dance and gymnastics class this year. I figure it is something fun she can do and that gets us out of the house in the winter, but it won't clutter our house anymore. Win-win!

And I am also obsessed with ranch dressing. The funny thing is that I don't like it on salads though. I just use it to dip other foods, especially pizza crust, into. My husband makes fun of me. :)

I also always wonder why my kids think they always need to be eating.. let me know if you ever figure it out ;)

Dara said...

I've never tried to make my own!

Dara said...

I know, we are attached to our toys and it's hard to narrow down which ones we won't miss!

Dara said...

great idea about the dance and gymnastics classes! which reminds me I owe money for my daughter's dance outfit!
I like Ranch on salad, but I mostly use it as a dip too!

I'm so sad I'm done with all the episodes!

glad it's not just my kids!

Gymboree has such cute things!

Dara said...

I know it! and oops I didn't link this to your link up! I will do that!

I am always overwhelmed by blogging. Not enough time in the day to do it all. The fact that you do 2 posts some days is mind blowing I'm lucky to get 3 posts a week.

Stopping by from the Hey it's Okay linkup. I love that you are a Kansas blogger... even if you are a transplant. I am a native Kansas girl that is living in Georgia... but I love hearing about a little piece of home like Chiefs players visiting. :)

I love it too much to skip days! but I should not post twice a day every day for sure.

Why are you worried about Hanukkah gifts? I've started my shopping and I'm trying very hard to not go overboard. It is so hard when you shop for kids!

Violet is a bottomless pit, she never stops eating.

Dara said...

I am worried because I usually shop the good deals but usually have time in December to shop. This year I have to do it all in November because it starts early this year. Also, I don't know what to get them!

I love that scarf on you Dara! Scarves are my fall wardrobe weakness ~ them and boots. I need to participate in a swap again soon. They're so fun...wanna start one up lol? I hear you on blogging being overwhelming at times. I feel that way a lot right now. And it's okay you haven't painted your nails again yet...mine are looking horrible at the moment, too :) Thanks for linking up!

Dara said...
