Fall and Winter #31Days

If you stopped by yesterday, you may already have a guess about today’s topic! That’s right, today we’re talking about the other half of the year – fall and winter.

In the fall, we like to go to get pumpkins and check out the local pumpkin patches, along with the cider mill. I would love to get apple picking back into our fall routine! We celebrate our main Jewish holidays in the fall. We also celebrate my birthday and Thanksgiving in November and Hanukkah in December. I’m not much of a winter person so I can’t say we love to go sledding as a family, though the kids definitely enjoy building snowmen and sledding with Dave!

Feel free to tell me about what you like to do with your family in the fall and winter in the comments or by leaving a link to your post!

We love to go pumpkin picking and of course celebrate Halloween with trick-or-treating. Last year, we had no power from Hurricane Sandy, but we still pulled it together to go trick-or-treating. In November, Lily was actually born 2 days before Thanksgiving. Last year, she was 2 on Black Friday and this year her birthday is actually the Saturday before Thanksgiving. So that is just some of what we have to celebrate this time of the year!! :)

I am not sure I knew you last year during hurricane sandy! wow. hopefully this year there won't be any big storms! I am a November b.day too but I'm 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. :)

I don't think we did either, but so glad we do know each other and are friends, too now! And I thought I was having Lily when I went into early labor on November 10th, but then she decided otherwise and I went 13 more days until November 23rd!! :)

We love pumpkin patches! I'm giddy just thinking about our up coming trip this weekend!

Fall is all about the pumpkin patch, Halloween, Thanksgiving and scoring deals on Black Friday (mainly online). The weekend after Thanksgiving we decorate the house for Christmas. The month of December we enjoy lots of baking and Christmas movies.

Pumpkin patches and cider sound like such a fun tradition--one that your kids will always remember! I'm so excited for our baby to be here so we can start family traditions of our own!

I think my dad used to carve pumpkins when we were little, but my kids have never done it!
