Tuesday Topics–4 Things I Learned Outside of School

Life. Love.Lauren

1. How to knit. I taught myself, using online videos, and help from my mom!

DSCN5236I made this for a craft exchange I took part in via Craftaholics Anonymous. I hope my partner liked it!

2. How to blog. I learned basic html in college from a friend. I have kept various websites since then! I guess blogging is something you learn as you go, so I’m still learning now!

3. How to find my true love. I met Dave in college, but you definitely don’t learn in school how to know who to marry. You just know!

4. How to be a mom. I never took any classes on this either. Childbirth classes, yes, but not how to be a mom.

And now, a giveaway! Happy Birthday Taylor!

All great answers! I want to learn how to knit, I can crochet but not knit.

That knitting project is so great! My sister learned to knit via the 'net too!

Knitting takes a LOT of patience! I tried to learn, but then I never worked on it. I guess the things we love doing, we try our best to teach ourselves. And motherhood--that's definitely a skill that can't be's an on-the-job learning experience.

Yeah I met my husband in high school, but the learning to love and knowing that they are the one is not school taught!

My grandmother tried to teach me to knit and crochet and I was horrible at both. So impressed you learned from videos online!

I loved reading this post. As a teacher I'll always support "formal education" but we know the "real education" comes from life experiences, self-discovery, etc. I love Youtube. If it was around sooner there are so many things I would have learned sooner...with a visual.

That headband looks like the Caliometry one. It was on my "to do" list for a while. I like the design of it. Kudos for all of the other things you learned outside of school.

Sorry for the super long response. <3
