As we did last year, we flew to NJ on Thanksgiving – actually our direct flight takes us to NYC, where we got a rental car and drove to Dave’s parents house on time for Thanksgiving dinner with the family. Dave’s sister, who is usually pretty much in charge of the festivities, was actually in Israel because her son and daughter-in-law just had a baby, so she was with them. However, Dave’s other sister’s oldest son flew in from Israel and we got to meet his younger daughter! (We met his older daughter at the big birthday party in the summer, and Gabbie actually already got to meet his younger daughter this summer in Israel!)
That morning, he went to the parade and got this turkey hat, which was a big hit all around. And he keeps us entertained in general!
Gabbie wasn’t in any of our Thanksgiving photos last year so she made sure to get in some this time! Here we have Zachary and Gabbie with their cousin and Grandpa, plus Grandma in the one after!
All together, Dave’s parents had 5 out of 6 of their kids / kids’ spouses, 8 out of 12 of their grandkids plus 3 out of 5 of the spouses, and 9 out of 12 of their great-grandkids there. The younger kids are our nephews’ and nieces’ kids.
Everyone split up the cooking and here is my brother-in-law with the turkey.

The little one from Israel had jet lag and fell asleep on her grandpa.

We always wonder if the little kids remember us! But they do love Simon. Here they are looking at a book about Thanksgiving that one of them made.
Group shot! All three of my kids, my niece’s husband on the end with his 4 kids, and the 5th kid belongs to my other niece!
We had a fun time and hope you had a good Thanksgiving too!
