Yes, I know it’s Thursday, but I decided to join Joyce at From This Side of the Pond for her Wednesday Hodgepodge Questions even though I’m a day late!
1. Somehow it’s March? Is it coming in like a lion where you live? Tell us one fun thing on your March calendar.
It’s actually come in quite lamb like as it’s been nice and warm out this week! March is full of things, like Gabbie’s first dance competition for the season this Sunday and Zachary’s school trip which he leaves on next week.
2. In what way(s) do you ‘march to the beat of your own drum’?
In all the ways! I have always felt like I’m my own person and I don’t necessarily follow the trends.
3. The Hodgepodge lands on Dr. Seuss Day (March 2nd). Do you like eggs? How about ham? Share a favorite quote from one of his books.
I love eggs. I have never had ham, does that make me weird? But Dr. Seuss said “We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.” I’ve never heard that quote before, but saw it when I was looking for one that I could call my favorite!
4. Have you read Little Women? How about Alice in Wonderland? Did you love them, like them, feel just eh about them? Why is this question in the Hodgepodge today?
I have read parts of both, and I feel like I have read them because I’m familiar with them but I’m not huge fans of either. I think this question is here because it’s Read Across America Day on 3/2. Although in Joyce’s answer she hints that the reason the question is here has something to do with the books themselves…now I’m curious!
5. How do you meal plan? How often do you shop for groceries? One homemade meal that was on your menu last week or is on your menu this week?
We often meal plan based on what we have already in the house. So if we have leftover from our Shabbat meals, we have that on Sunday or Monday, and we often have something meat on Sunday. Sometimes during the week we have tacos on Tuesday and on Wednesday. If not, we’ve been having eggs on Wednesday since suddenly everyone likes eggs! The kids have pizza on Thursdays. I shop for groceries pretty often, since I always forget or can’t find something I needed each time I go!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
We have a new foster dog! Her name is Sophie and she’s adorable. Her previous owner passed away and the owner’s grandson decided he didn’t want her anymore. So sad, but she will have a great life when she is adopted because she is so sweet!
Tell me your answer to any of these!
