For today’s Random Friday things, I have some randomness to share, including the beginning of dance competition season and more about Sophie, our current foster dog!

Way back on President’s Day, we went to the new Coldstone Creamery in town. The family of one of Zachary’s classmates opened it and it is certified kosher, so we are happy to support them!

The next day, we took Gabbie to visit KU. The visit was fine, although cold, but it didn’t make us feel strongly about whether or not she’ll want to go there for college. The good thing is that it’s close by – I went to college about the same distance away from my house, and it worked well for me. I snapped one photo while there – in the bathroom, because I thought it was funny.

Gabbie had her first dance competition of the season last Sunday. We had to be there at 7 AM and I left after her second dance at 2:30 ish. The solo dancers didn’t go till the evening, so Gabbie got a ride home at 9 PM! She didn’t do her solo at this one, but will on this coming Sunday. This is a picture of her and her tap team:

Sophie is doing great with us and once she gets some social media attention from the shelter, I’m sure she’ll be adopted! For now, I’m happy to have her here. We discovered that she loves tennis balls and if you say “Sophie, where’s your ball?” she knows to look for it!
I guess she also likes to cuddle!

Today is the first day of Gabbie’s spring break – and yesterday we had another snow day! I feel badly complaining about winter because it didn’t seem that bad until last month, when it started snowing every other week and giving us a ton of snow days! Last Sunday, it went from warm to cold very quickly, and there was a hail storm. This happened in about 10 minutes:
Hoping spring comes soon! Have a great weekend!
