Today I’m excited to announce a new link up that I’m hosting along with Adrienne, Lauren, Ashley, and Sarita. The link up is called “Not Just a Mom” and each month we will have a topic of discussion around the things that make us who we are – beyond being just moms. The first topic is introductions, and since I’ve been blogging for so long, reintroducing myself always feels repetitive! So, in honor of the year 2020, I’ve decided to share 20 things today – about me, about this past year, and about what I’m looking ahead to in 2020.
1. 2019 wasn’t amazing or horrible, it kind of just was.
2. My word of the year for 2019 was Confidence and I think I fulfilled my goals with that word.
3. Past words of the year I have focused on were Strong and Declutter. I usually let a word come to me and focus my yearly goals around that word. This year nothing has come yet.
4. My most popular blog posts of 2019 were literally all Prime Purchases posts except for one – how I lost 50 pounds in 6 months.
5. My blog goals are a pretty big failure. I get way less views per month than I have been hoping for. I think if I could just write a few good posts I could boost my views, but I’m just not that creative I guess.
6. My Disney Autograph Books post used to get a lot of views, but lately it hasn’t been performing well anymore. Now my Disney Pin Book post gets a good deal of views.
7. My Instagram has fallen into a niche, which has helped me with engagement. You have probably noticed that it is focused much around books these days. I still post my photography and travel pictures there as well.
8. I go through phases with obsessions and right now my obsession is with books and reading. In the past, other obsessions have included babywearing, knitting and yarn, the show Scandal, and the band Evan and Jaron.
9. I love to travel. The past year we visited Dallas, Las Vegas, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Chicago, Milwaukee, Nashville, Atlanta, and Florida. (yes some of those are states and some are cities!)
10. New Mexico was my 48th state. I need to visit North Dakota and Oregon and then I’ll have visited all 50! Dave has already been to Oregon, so I really want to hit that one first so we can do our 50th state together.
11. Dave and I have been married for 19 years. We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. I want to go to Hawaii for our 20th anniversary and I want to bring our kids, but Dave thinks it will be too expensive.
12. This coming year we plan to visit NJ / NY for Passover and Israel in the summer to celebrate Zachary’s bar mitzvah.
13. I would love to do more international traveling in the next decade.
14. Even though this link up is about being more than just a mom, I should mention that my kids are 14, 12, and 9 years old.
15. I love shopping for good deals.
16. My newest buy was this dress from Walmart, which I had looked at before, but now it’s only $13! (Thanks to my blog friend Leslie for that!)
17. I just got a t-shirt that says “Carpool is my Cardio.” It’s so true!
18. I love the idea of Family Goals, as Jaclyn shared here. I asked Gabbie what our family goals should be and she said she thinks I should try not to get angry so quickly. {facepalm}
19. I am still keeping track of gratitude daily even though it is hard sometimes.
20. I am rather clumsy. Two weeks ago I dropped my laptop on my pinkie toe and it still hurts!
Now, link up an introduction post so we can all get to know each other as more than moms! Save our graphic and come back next month when we will discuss Date Nights!

Do we have anything in common? What do you think my word of the year should be?
