There’s no shortage of fun and interesting things to do with friends and family, and wherever
you live, you’ll be able to find all sorts of attractions and leisure activities to keep everyone
occupied. Sometimes though, it can be good to try something a bit more challenging, an
activity that gets the adrenaline pumping and the heart racing, or a new kind of experience
that none of you have attempted before. Many kids find this kind of adventure is the best of
all, but if you aren’t sure about it, just have a look at some of the options for a different kind
of adventure.
Sports
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to paddle down a river in a kayak? Take a
horseback ride over the mountains? How about dipping your toe in the sea and having a go
at surfing, snorkeling or scuba diving? There are many sports you can do safely with your
family, like hiking, cycling and golf for example, but many of the sports labeled as extreme
are in truth very family-friendly too. Go for something everyone can join in with, and you’ll
find you have plenty of thrills and excitement.
Experiences
If you have older children, a mystery to solve at Escape Room STL will be an adventure you can all work together to solve, and have some great fun in the process. Kids always love
scary things, so you have plenty of scope for finding experiences based on something
horrible! Some of the most popular elements of theme parks like Disney World are the ones
designed to scare, because most people enjoy having a fright in safe surroundings. There
are some incredible rollercoasters and thrill rides at parks all across the country, too, if you
like the adrenaline rush and the kids are eager to scream themselves hoarse. If this isn’t
your style, explore the offerings on websites of companies that specialize in experience days
for ideas. You might not find an activity you want to book, but you’ll certainly get some ideas
of things to try.
Challenges
There are any number of challenges you can try as a family. Ziplines aren’t quick thrills in
kids play areas – have a look online, and you’ll find some amazing examples where you can
cross ravines, forests and waterfalls. These are ideal for the rush of speeding through the air
without the risks of going bungee-jumping. Treetop adventure trails are another great
example of activities you can all take part in together, and your little monkeys will love
playing at being Dora the Explorer. You could go up in a hot air balloon if you fancy
something that’s challenging but in a more tranquil way!
Sometimes it’s good to completely let your hair down, try new things and join in with your
kids in having pure, unadulterated fun. Make a date for the family to go on a special trip, and
get together tonight to plan your adventure!
