Last year when I wrote my list of goals for the year, I pointed out that a year is a long time to plan for. That turned out to be true, as things changed during the year and not all of my plans were possible! I went back to look at the goals I wrote for last year and as it turns out, some of them were in my mind to include on my list this year too! I like my goals to be attainable and measurable, rather than subjective as to whether I’ve actually fulfilled them. However, I still managed to make goals like “do such and such more.” How am I supposed to measure if I did it more? More than what?
Here’s a look back at the goals I made last year:
Fitness Goals
-
Exercise 5 times per week: I started out exercising 5 or even 6 times a week, right into the summer. Unfortunately, that has tapered off. I still go to the gym 3-4 times a week, but I’m not working out on the in-between days.
What I have been keeping up with (until the freezing temps) is daily walks, which I hope to continue! -
Lose 20-30 pounds: Sadly, I’m not the type of person who can eat better and lose the weight. I have to eat perfectly and I have to work out hard. So I am about 10 pounds up from my lowest weight and I didn’t lose 20-30 pounds.
-
Lose inches (2 inches per month?): I also didn’t lose inches.
-
Drink more water: Did I drink more water? Probably not.
-
Do my version of the 21-Day Fix again: I did not do the 21-Day Fix this year.
Thoughts: This looks like a big fail to me!
House Goals
-
Declutter using the 91 Day Declutter Challenge Schedule: I DID complete the 91 Day Declutter Challenge.
-
Do the consignment sale with the kids’ clothes: I did the Spring consignment sale but not the fall one.
-
Have a toy sale: I didn’t have a toy sale because I ended up included the toys in the consignment sale!
-
Keep the house decluttered by cleaning up more often and putting things away: I still need to work on putting things away more often.
-
Make each room functional and with places to keep the things we use in that room: I feel like I did make our rooms more functional, but there are still spots that need help.
Thoughts: The Declutter Challenge was very helpful. I need to go over some areas in our house again. There are also some drop zones that I would love to rework because they are always driving me crazy!
Blog Goals
