Today is the 6th day of Hanukkah and it’s about time I recap the first half of the holiday! Later this week I will recap the 2nd half. This post contains affiliate links.

I know I say this every year, but Hanukkah isn’t supposed to be about the presents – but we give presents anyway! On the first night the kids got their big gifts, the ones they knew they were getting and were super excited for. The kids take turns lighting the menorah each night.
I obviously need to clean up this table.
The boys got a Nintendo Switch. We didn’t previously have a gaming system and of course I chose to get them the most expensive one! But they love it. Their first game for the Switch was Mario Kart – which was a gift from my parents.
Gabbie got a phone. She was apparently the last kid in her class to have one!
Zachary watched a video on how to set up the Switch. He’s so cute!

On night two, we had a dinner to attend. They had donuts, one of the fried foods that is popular on Hanukkah.
And it was Zachary’s turn to light the menorah.
The kids received books as gifts.
Flat Stanley Collection | Laugh Out Loud Jokes For Kids
Harry Potter – A Journey Through A History of Magic | Auggie & Me | Elon Musk & The Quest For a Fantastic Future
Oops, the book is sideways. Let me turn it upside down instead!
When You Reach Me | A Smart Girl’s Guide – Worry | Fever 1793
The boys also got their second Switch game – 1, 2 Switch, and Gabbie got Just Dance 2018, both from my brother and sister-in-law.

The third night was Gabbie’s winter dance recital, which I will recap tomorrow. It was Simon’s turn to light the menorah!
I feel like I am getting better at taking photos of the candles!
The kids received their yearly Shutterfly calendars and the boys got Lego Worlds for the Switch.

On the 4th night, we added games to our collection!
The Magic Labyrinth | Clue | State the Picture | Ticket To Ride
I also made my hot dog menorah!
And the nightly photo:
Stay tuned later this week to read about the rest of the holiday!
