A few of the blogs that I follow do a really cool challenge called $10 at Target. The idea is to spend $10 and only $10 buying fun items at Target. This is the 3rd month I have participated – see May’s challenge here!
This month, I did something fun – I included the kids in the challenge! I gave them each the $10 limit and let them pick out what they wanted. I tried not to be too serious about it – I usually give them a lot of directions when shopping, like reminding them if they already have something similar or telling them what they don’t need – and I think they did a pretty good job! One cool thing is how differently they each spent their allotted $10! Don’t worry, I did the challenge myself too!
Gabbie thought the things in the dollar section were cute.
Simon found a few cute things too.
Gabbie also had a birthday gift card to spend, so she chose a brush and a pillow.
For whatever reason, I was more interested in clothes this time than cute items.
I also had coupons to try out Snapple Straight Up Tea, so I made sure to grab some! <— That link will bring you to a 10% off coupon, plus Snapple Straight Up Tea is 5/$5 until 7/30!
Curious what we bought in the end?
I got two t-shirts and two teas (free with coupons). My total was $10.89. I had a $10 gift card from an online friend, so I only spent $.89! Simon got play doh, Minion sunglasses, and some sort of goo. His total was $10.33.
Zachary got one thing only – wireless headphones. His total was $10.34.
Our winner was Gabbie. She got the most items for the best price! She got pencils, a “this week” notepad, bobby pins, binder clips, push pins, sticky notes, and a hand lotion for a grand total of $9.82!!
What do you think?
