Today I’m linking up with Marsha for the 10 on the 10th link up. This month’s topic is 10 Things You Consider Essential For Fall. As I’ve gotten older, fall has become even more of a beloved season for me. In the past, I loved spring because it was almost summer and summer because I loved being off from school and going to my day camp (as a kid). Now, summer is just so hot and humid that I look forward to the cooler days of fall. And the colors! So here are 10 of my Fall Essentials.
1. Cooler weather. It’s not fall until the humidity is down and the mornings are in the 60s. It’s the best weather for morning jogs as well!
2. My fall decor. I change up my entry way decor every season. I basically use the same decor every year, so I haven’t shared each season here recently, since I have already done so in the past. But here is a photo I just snapped of our current fall entry way.
3. I’m not a huge pumpkin fan as far as having to get a yearly pumpkin spiced latte but I do like pumpkin decor, as you can see above!
4. I’m more of an apple in the fall fan. Apple cider, which my kids have been drinking since before school began, apple pie, apple challah, and apples dipped in honey for Rosh Hashanah!
5. Fall colors. The leaves here don’t change till later and many times they just turn brown and fall off. But I love seeing the red, orange, and yellow leaves of fall.
6. Fall makes me think soup. I really do eat soup year round, but there’s something about a nice bowl of soup or chili in the fall.
7. Fall fashion includes sweaters and boots – we aren’t quite there yet here, but this Saturday, Gabbie wore a sweater to synagogue and told me that even if it’s not fall yet, she’s pretending it is. Makes sense to me!
8. Football! The Chiefs won their first game this weekend and their next game is this Thursday night.
9. I like to adjust my reading each season and in October, I try to add in some more thrillers or atmospheric reads. In November, I add in more nonfiction for Nonfiction November!
10. The fall holidays really signal fall for me. Because of the Jewish calendar being lunar based, the dates of the holidays change each year. So sometimes it is super hot for them and sometimes it can be cold. This year, I am hoping for cool but not cold weather, as they fall later in the season!
