Back in May, I wrote a list of the best places to take a nature walk in Kansas City. On my list, I included the Parkville Nature Sanctuary, which I had not yet gotten to visit. This summer, there were a few days that Zachary didn’t have camp but the other kids did, so we got to go on a few mother-son adventures, and one of the places we chose to visit was the Parkville Nature Sanctuary.
Right near the parking lot is this random jail cell. Or at least it says it’s a jail cell on it. I couldn’t find any information about it at all.
We took the trail that would lead us to the waterfall. It was about a 1 mile loop walk.
Zachary climbed to the top of the waterfall. Can you see him up there?
I brought my tripod and messed with trying to get slow flowing water photos.
We also looked for a geocache that was supposed to be on the side of the falls. We found the sticker from the box, but not the box itself!
On the way back, it randomly started to rain. But we were covered by the trees so we didn’t really get wet. And then it stopped anyway!
All in all, a nice hike with Zachary!
