A few of the blogs that I follow do a really cool challenge called $10 at Target. The idea is to spend $10 and only $10 buying fun items at Target. This is the 6th month I have participated – see August’s challenge here!
This month, while I wasn’t sure exactly what I was looking for, I knew I wanted some sort of cup or container for part of my fall entry way, and I also wanted to get some booties – although the booties would not be counted as the $10 I needed to spend on the challenge. I actually had a coupon for $10 off of $40 in women’s apparel, so I figured I would apply that to the booties. Here’s how it went down:
Lip gloss deals – I proceeded to move on.
Hey, I know someone with that shirt! Not my size though. Shorts – all in the $5-$6 range! I tried some on.
$ spot section – some cool fall items, but no containers.
All of the school themed items that were previously in the $ spot were 70% off. I passed on them though!
Here’s what I ended up with:
Fall themed paper pad – $3 | Mini Chalkboard Easel – $1 | Mug – $1.98 | Shorts – $6.88
To make things complicated, I needed to pair the shorts with the booties to get the $10 off of $40. So some money came off of the shorts, but my receipt didn’t tell me how much! I (with some help) determined that I saved $1.65 on the shorts, making them $5.23.
Total: $11.21 – So, I went over. And counting the booties, I went way over! But I’m happy with what I got!
What do you think?
