Tonight and tomorrow we are going to be celebrating Purim, a holiday I have written about many times in the past. It is a very fun holiday in which the kids dress up in costumes (some adults do too!) and we give gifts of food to our friends. Like last year, we wanted to have a theme for our gift bags, and because Zachary is going to be a policeman (again) and one of Simon’s costumes is a fireman, we decided we would do a first-aid kit themed bag. Gabbie came up with most of the ideas we are using and the kids worked together to pack everything up!
Gabbie and Zachary decorated the bags with red Jewish stars representing Magen David Adom, which is the Israeli version of the Red Cross.
Forgive the blurriness – they don’t stay still!
As for what is inside – the Fruit By The Foot is meant to be like an Ace Bandage, the Air Heads are for Band Aids (and we also put in real Band Aids), the Razzles candy is supposed to be like medicine, the lollipops are for sore throats, the Ginger Ale is for stomach aches, and we also included an apple to keep the doctor away!
Stay tuned for more Purim things this week!
