I used to be a scrapbooker, but I lost the motivation. However, my kids love looking through books of photos, and I have found the easiest way to keep up with their desire for photo books is to use online services to put our photos into books. Therefore, when I was asked to try out collage.com’s photo books I jumped on it right away!
“Create a professional photo book with a single click using our One-Click Photo Book. Select photos of any size from Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, or your computer and we’ll instantly design a clean, professional layout that you can further customize.
The Collage.com book builder is cleaner and faster than what you get from the other sites. Instead of putting the focus on unwanted embellishments or prefab templates that can take hours to delete, we put the emphasis on your photos. Our innovative auto-placement engine instantly suggests a perfect layout, placing photos of any size over the desired number of pages. Best of all, our aerial overview allows you to quickly swap and resize photos from any page instead of making you work one page at a time.”
The difference between collage.com’s books and the books on other sites is that the focus is on the collage style, which I really enjoyed. On other sites, I have had difficulty finding the right layouts for my photos to make them look good together on each page. Collage.com does this task for you – you just drop the photo onto the page and it fits it in with all the other photos you have chosen. Of course, you can rearrange the layout to your own liking, but I found this format very easy to use. You can choose to have your photos in “free form” mode, where they are scattered on the page, or to line up neatly as you see above. The books are available in soft or hard cover and range in size from 6″ x 4.5″ to 14″ x 10.5″, with 20 pages in each book (or you can add more as you wish). The books allow from 20-500 pictures to be included! Your collages can also be made into different shaped collages, but I stuck with plain squares on mine. My favorite thing was the covers, which you can choose to design using all of your photos!
My kids were quick to remind me that I had never created a book about our Disney Cruise, even though it’s been 9 months since we took that trip! So that was the book I designed first.
You can view my book online too!
I was also asked to try out a soft-cover book and it took me awhile to decide what to put into that one. I eventually decided to make a color book – I went through our pictures from the past year and sorted them by colors, creating pages for these colors. It came out really nicely and the kids enjoyed remembering the various occasions on which the photos were taken.
Deal Alert! Right now you can get Collage.com’s 11.5 x 8.5 hardcover book for just $25!
I received this product in exchange for my review. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
