Tic-Tac Bananas! App Review

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

As you know, I’m always looking for fun things for my kids to do and one of the things Zachary loves is playing new games on the iPad. So of course, when Mallory from Evanced Games contacted me and offered me a chance to try some of the educational and fun apps which are based on award-winning Edupress board games, can be played together and turn learning into a game for young children, I was quick to agree.

Mallory allowed us to test out Tic-Tac Bananas, a game which features letter patterns, decoding skills, and word recognition along with the original Tic-Tac-Toe game. Players select an entertaining monkey portrait, revealing a partial word for participants to complete. The player marks a spot on the grid with an accurate word match. Three in a row earns a Tic-Tac-Toe!

When I tested out the app myself, I was concerned that Zachary would have a hard time figuring out what the monkeys were doing in the images he was to decode, but he did well and was even able to figure out how to spell the word knock – he had the blank _ock and was able to choose the correct letters to complete the words!

All three kids liked the monkeys and had fun with the game!

Tic-Tac Bananas Features:

  • Parent and teacher approved Edupress™ content
  • Crafted to improve player literacy
  • Ranging from age 4 to 8
