  • My niece had a baby boy!
  • We traveled to NJ and celebrated Dave’s parents’ anniversary.
  • We celebrated our 14th anniversary.

And now, more about me via Instagram. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably seen these pictures already, but I like to post them here because they are the quick snap shots of my life! (If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you can, here.)

Mighty Yeti Studios Interactive Story Apps

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

Zachary got an iPad Mini for Hanukkah, which was the number one thing he asked for all year long. He was very excited to be able to do his reading homework on his iPad using these great new apps that I was able to try out from Mighty Yeti Studios.

Zachary chose to read A Shark Knocked On The Door, a heartwarming story of a boy going on an adventure with his grandma. The story is fun to read and is also interactive! “Gutter races with Grandma are the best!  But when a beloved toy boat is lost down the sewer, all seems lost until a friendly shark returns it and takes the boy and his grandma on a fantastical underseas adventure.  Children ages 2 – 8 will love uncovering the interactive jewels in this tale of a boy and his Grammy and their new special friend.”

A Shark Knocked On The Door as well as Mr. Cupcake Has The Sprinkles are both available on iTunes, Google play, and Amazon apps for the kindle fire. You can get a taste of these apps in their trailers posted on the Mighty Yeti YouTube page. The apps have 70+ interactive touch points and “Read to Me” features in both Spanish and English. There aren’t any in-app purchases or advertisements either.

All talent for these apps is professionally sourced. Josh Book, a co-founder of Mighty Yeti, is a former Nickelodeon creative director. You may have seen his work on Sheriff Callie’s Wild West or Bubble Guppies. Roman Laney, an animator on the recent major motion picture Book of Life, animated the app A Shark Knocked On The Door.

Zachary really enjoyed both A Shark Knocked On The Door and Mr. Cupcake Has The Sprinkles, so I hope you will check them out as well!

I was provided with these apps in exchange for a review. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.

December Ipsy Glam Bag

Monday, December 29, 2014

This month I received my 14th Ipsy Glam Bag. This month’s theme was “Thinking of You.” Here is what I received:

Beauty Without Cruelty A.H.A. 3% Facial Cleanser – $2.99:
A lightly-foaming, soap-free cleanser that removes dead surface skin cells, daily impurities, and excess oil without over-cleaning your skin.
15% off with code CGWUYET until 1/31/15.
My thoughts: I have been using this and I like the light scent and the smooth feel. No complaints about this one!

Crown Brush Infinity Shadow / Crease Duet Brush – $6.99
This dual-ended brush offers the best of both worlds. The shadow brush is perfect for applying eye shadow or contouring the eye, while the crease brush is designed to be used dry for defining the eye, or wet for precision concealing.
30% off $25 with code IPSY30 until 1/31/15.
My thoughts: I have plenty of makeup brushes, but this will be great for traveling since it is multi-use!

NYX Cosmetics Butter Lip Balm in Red Velvet – $4
This Buttery Lip Balm is addictively soft and scrumptious and perfect for adding a subtle hint of color for a naturally flirtatious pout. Apply directly to bare lips or apply it over lip liner for more intense color.
25% off Glam Collection with code NYXGLITZ until 1/31/15.
My thoughts: I love this! It’s so smooth and feels great. It has a hint of color, which is nice looks-wise, and the sweet smell is nice too.

Pixi by Petra Fairy Dust in Brightening Bare – $10:
Elevate & transform your eye in a few fairy seconds with this glimmering dust. Loose pigments add a lit-up high shine finish to lids, reminding you what wishes are truly made of!
20% off with code PIXIDUST until 1/31/15.
My thoughts: Very pretty and again, will be good to travel with as it is compact, yet it works well!

tarte deluxe lights, camera, lashes 4-in-1 mascara – $20 for .24 oz, I received .1 oz, a value of $8.33:
Lengthens, curls, volumizes and conditions to deliver a 330% increase in lash volume instantly. The high-performance formula is also infused with naturally-derived olive esters to help nourish and protect lashes.
20% off with code IPSYDEC until 1/8/15.
My thoughts: I have plenty of mascara and I only use it occasionally, so I wouldn’t say I needed this, but it is nice enough!

Once again, I pay $10 a month for these bags. I love seeing what comes my way each month! The value received this month was $32.31. My favorite items were the eye shadow and lip balm, plus I love this month’s bag!

100 Good Deeds #DeedADay

Thursday, December 25, 2014

New Year’s is almost upon us and yet another year, we’ll be setting resolutions. What if, we all agreed that this year, instead of being self-centered in our resolutions, we started a good deed movement? What if we partnered with a cause and spread the good deed message on all our platforms?

This year, I’m setting a new kind of resolution and it’s all about doing good deeds. I’ve joined the #DeedADay movement and my goal is to do a deed a day. I’d like to encourage my readers to join with me. Imagine if we all did a good deed a day, what a better place the world would be. Together we can change the world, one deed, one bead, one act of kindness at a time. A good deed means we’ve gone out of our way to help someone and only counts if the deed remains anonymous. Each time you do a good deed, move the ring on the bracelet closer to the button.

These Bracelets are made by vulnerable women who’ve been trained for this work in Uganda, India, Indonesia, Zambia, South Africa, Rwanda, and Haiti. This project gives a women a way to support their families through earnings, while empowering them to also contribute to good deeds around the world.

The bracelets are designed by Mary Fisher, author, artist and AIDS advocate. The 100 Good Deeds bracelet is both a fashion statement and a cause. This non-profit provides economic and educational opportunities to women and girls across Africa and elsewhere. Proceeds from 1GD bracelets are reinvested in the program to provide more women and girls with more training in more countries.
The 100 Good Deeds Bracelets are available for purchase at in nineteen colors and two sizes, medium/large or petite/small. One hundred percent of proceeds from sales are reinvested in the 100 Good Deeds program. Join the 100 Good Deeds movement using the hashtag #1GD, follow on Facebook at, on Twitter using the handle @The1GDBracelet at, on Instagram using the handle @the1GDBracelet at and on Pinterest at

Will you join me in this movement?

I was gifted a100 Good Deeds bracelet to review and share with my readers. However, all thoughts and opinions expressed herein are my own.

Hanukkah 2014

Wednesday, December 24, 2014

Today is the last day of Hanukkah, so what better way to end the holiday then to share some of the fun times we’ve had over the past 8 days. Things have been busy and hectic, but fun too! Here are a lot of pictures!

This year I didn’t take pictures of every present my kids got, but let’s just say they got a lot! They seemed to be pretty happy too, which means I am happy!
