31 Days To Write The Story Of Your Family

Your Family Story
Pin It

Each October, The Nester hosts a humungous link up known as 31 Days. I first heard of the 31 Days idea last year, but I couldn’t think of a topic to write about for 31 days. Last year, 1200 bloggers posted on a huge variety of topics, each writing a series about their topic for the month of October. This year, The Nester decided to break the link up into categories, and somehow the Family Life category gave me the idea for my series. Each afternoon or evening this month, I will be sharing a prompt meant to inspire readers to journal, blog, or otherwise record the story of their family.

Each of my posts will contain a prompt or prompts having to do with the story of your family, from the roots through the future. If you want to write down your family’s story, you can do so along with me this month (or sometime in the future) by following my prompts, and by the end of 31 days you will have a full journal, blog category, or computer folder containing the story of your family.

I will still be blogging as I regularly do during this month, but you can expect to see these prompt posts in addition to my regular posts. I do have some blanks on my calendar when it comes to prompt ideas – what ideas do you have?

Other 31 Days Series I Am Following

September In Review

September is over already? It definitely went by quickly for me! Whenever we have a lot of holidays, that happens. Here are some of the highlights.

Family Activities:

DSCN6379  DSCN6384

  • We went to Ciderfest and the small pumpkin patch like we do every year.

Around The House:

  • I made some easy dinner recipes.
  • We started potty training Simon (yes he does have a wet spot on his pants in the picture above!)

Me:

Later tonight I will be introducing my October blog project, which I’m calling “31 Days To Write The Story of Your Family.” It is a part of #31DaysinOctober with The Nester. Happy October Everyone!

Skirtember Week 4 and September Craft Challenge–Paper

It’s the last week of Skirtember. I think I did pretty well on the challenge! Here’s what I wore this week:

I took these next 3 pictures ahead of time…

September 28. I actually wore rain boots instead of these! It rained and I was afraid to ruin them.

What do you think of my outfits?

Moving on, September’s Craft Challenge was to make something with Paper. First up, I am overdue on sharing my Project Life pages. I’m also way behind on updating them, but here are the ones I’ve finished:

Disney Day 2.

Secondly, I actually did craft something out of paper – my favorite medium after yarn! I used this cardboard container:

And covered it with paper secured with mod podge.

Then I used washi tape around the edges.

I used it to hold plastic utensils, napkins, and cups to bring out to the Sukkah!

Super easy, but what do you think?
