August Craft Challenge–For Outdoors

This month’s challenge was to complete a craft for the outdoors. And one of the things on my 35 Things To Do list was to fix our front banister and little tables. (Also, to fix our bench, but that doesn’t seem like it will happen. Read on to see why.)

First up was our banister. It was rusting and chipping like crazy. So I used some cream colored spray paint to fix it up.

Here it is after the paint job.

The tables were quite a mess. Rusting and dirty. I cleaned them up, sprayed the tops white and the bottoms gold.

In the process.

After.

And here is the bench. Dave says it’s not worth fixing. What do you think?

Here is our front steps currently. Complete with Buzz Lightyear (aka Zachary) looking out the front door.

See the mulch area to the right? It’s completely empty. It needs plants. I don’t know where to begin! By the way, the blurriness of some of the pictures is due to the current humidity outside! Crazy!

You did a great job with this challenge. The tables and banisters look amazing! And must tell you we really haven't been that warm or humid either here this past month. But crazy how cool and rainy the month of August for us has been instead now.

The banister looked so clean and shiny after! Great job! The bench..I would have done the same. Some things can't be saved, at least in the amount of time we have.

I love how the railing looks and the little tables. Isn't spray paint the best?

Well done handy woman, I'd say if it isn't going to cost much give the seat a spray. You might surprise him!

A little work (and spray paint) goes a long way.
