About 5 years ago, when Zachary had just turned a year old and Gabbie was 3, I drove to upstate New York to visit a friend while Dave was traveling for work. It was the first and only time I have taken a road trip on my own, with or without the kids! My friend lived close to the New York border with Vermont, in the Adirondack Mountains. Coincidentally, my uncle (and now aunt) live close to her, so we saw them too! For today’s Flashback Feature, here are a few photos from the trip.
We went to the Ausable Chasm, which is a sandstone gorge tourist attraction. Here are the pictures from there:
Here is Gabbie and my friend’s daughter. It was drizzling a bit, hence the umbrella!

Next, we took the ferry across the lake to Burlington, VT.
I have this photo on my refrigerator!
This was on the way back from VT. I didn’t take any pictures in VT – I’m not sure why!
I remember driving back home after our visit (we were there for a few days) was not the easiest! And I believe it was Zachary who ended up with an ear infection just after we got back. However, we had a good time visiting an area that I have not otherwise been to!
Has anyone else been to the Adirondacks?
