I am turning 34 years old on Saturday and in honor of my birthday, I’m going to share 34 Mostly Random Facts About Me!

Yummiest birthday cake ever!

  1. 3 years ago when I first moved to Kansas, one of the first things I did was hang photos.
  2. One of the next things I did was get pregnant with Simon.
  3. Before 3 years ago, I spent my whole life in New Jersey.
  4. I studied abroad in Israel for 7 months.
  5. I’ve never been to Europe, but I’ve been to Israel, Egypt, and Jordan.
  6. I dread the idea of traveling internationally again.
  7. I desperately want to go on a Disney Cruise.
  8. My favorite color has long been purple, but lately it’s becoming teal.
  9. I am not a morning person.
  10. I don’t really like talking on the phone. I prefer email or talking in person.
  11. I really like playing Where’s My Water on my iPhone.
  12. I had braces for the first time when I was 8 and was finally done with them at 14.
  13. I had chicken pox when I was 14.
  14. My all time favorite musician is Billy Joel.
  15. The first concert I ever attended was Debbie Gibson.
  16. I have seen at least 20 Broadway shows.
  17. For a long time I wrote letters to people I’d never met in person – pen pals.
  18. I used to write on a blog called
  19. If I could have a super power it would be the ability to transport myself anywhere in an instant.
  20. I used to get sick whenever I drank coffee.
  21. Even though I’ve been running for a good 9 months, I still can’t call myself a runner.
  22. I taught myself to knit using videos online (and my mom helped with a few things).
  23. I have a master’s degree in social work.
  24. On my birthday in history was the first episode of Sesame Street, the charter of Rutgers University, and the founding of the United States Marines Corps.
  25. I was a huge fan of the show Lost.
  26. I prefer being at home alone, rather than going out somewhere alone.
  27. I refuse to try Zumba because I’m really not coordinated.
  28. I was always one of the youngest in my class in school.
  29. I used to make friendship bracelets for everyone at camp – I wish I would have charged $1 or so each!
  30. If I see someone I recognize, usually hearing their name will remind me who they are and how I know them.
  31. I had 3 c-sections, none of them planned.
  32. I broke my ankle while I was pregnant with Simon.
  33. I have lost 3 friends to suicide and I support suicide prevention.
  34. I am excited because I think the best in life is yet to come!
