A few weeks ago I went to a Vintage Flea Market. I told you I’d be back to share what I bought there, and now here I am!
The first thing I bought were these awesome open back frames which are now on my entry table display.
I love the colors, and I also bought something else from the same designer – this frames piece of fabric which I’m using as a tray.
I was also in search of a tray to use on my dining room table. I found this:
I didn’t like the paint and the random picture and buttons, so I pulled them off with plans to paint the tray. When I pulled off the buttons, all the paint came off and I found this:
I wasn’t sure how to alter the tray and started by using a map and mod podge, but I didn’t like the way the map tore at the corners, so I removed it. I also tried adhesive ribbons, but I didn’t have enough to cover the whole tray. Next I painted it yellow.
It was much too bright and not to my liking! So I moved on to chalk board paint. I ended up painting the sides a dark pink and attaching a flower decal.
I think trays are great for decor and I have my eye out for more to decorate and alter!
