Link to Part 1!
When we got up in the morning, we headed out to the balcony to see what the kangaroos were up to. We were rewarded with a great view of the joey out of his pouch, hopping around, stopping to nurse from his mama, visiting with his dad (the big kangaroo was named Dundee and was the dad of all the babies!), etc.
We were ready for another visit with the animals. This time we got to feed the giraffes and kangaroos again and also got to see even more of the animals that live on the farm.
Aren’t the giraffes sweet? Next we met these funny cows that act like puppies. They followed us all around the barns.
The pig wandered over to us while we were in the barn. Zachary liked him a lot!
Next we fed a few more animals and admired the zebras. We couldn’t pet them because they bite. But I guess I was never up close to a zebra before because I didn’t realize how cool their stripes are! They go right up to their hair!
Yay, next it was back to the kangaroos! We really loved feeding the kangaroos.
Finally, we all got camel rides and the kids got pony rides. Simon was in a mood and wanted to ride the “go cart” (golf cart) but settled for playing on the playground instead. He didn’t like the camel ride and didn’t want to go on the pony!
All in all we really enjoyed Hedricks! The funniest thing is that our good friends who told us about this place coincidentally were also there the same day as us! We did know ahead of time that they were going too, but we didn’t plan it together, so it was a nice surprise! Stay tuned for a post about a cool spot we stopped on the way home!
